The present work reports the behavior of electric aluminum wire produced by drawing process with purity of 99.5 %; witch has been studied during the creep tests at different temperatures and stresses. This wire was used in transportation of electric energy. Tensile creep tests have been investigated in the temperature range of 130-190 ◦C at applied stresses between 126 and 162 MPa. Creep tests have been carried out on this material, in order to study its effect on such material properties as minimum creep rate, ductility, life time. We have found that the increase of temperature and stress have an effect on the creep life of the material. The response of the material during creep testing is related to the microstructure that is evolving. For further analyze and characterization of material studied, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction were used. The stress exponent and activation energy are respectively in the ranges of 3.06 - 3.7and 66.9 - 97.74 kJ/ mol. Therefore, the dominant creep mechanism is viscous gliding of dislocation. We have also observed a texture structure along axis wire after the wire drawing process.
The article concerns preliminary research involving the development of a flow model for a material consisting of a mixture of clay (70%), quartz sand (10%) and ceramic flour (20%) in an upsetting test in order to determine the course of plasticizing stress as a function of actual strain. This material constitutes the mass for the production of ceramic roof tiles and at the beginning of the process it is pressed through forming tools, then cut to the appropriate size, stamped and dried. It is difficult to find information in the literature on the subject on the numerical modeling of the process of extruding a strip of clay, especially in terms of the operation of forming tools, which wear out mainly as a result of intense friction of the pressed material, causing abrasive and tribological wear of the tools. Therefore, first, the authors conducted upsetting tests to determine the flow characteristics, and then attempted to develop a material model for the clay mixture. The results of the conducted R&D work, after many verifications and modifications, allowed the construction of a model based on Hansel Spittel's formula along with the identification of parameters and coefficients appearing in the equation. The final stage of the work was the development of a numerical model for the preliminary analysis of the formation of the squeezed band.
Due to the need to increase the efficiency and quality of production, expand the range of products manufactured and optimize the use of personnel, a project entitled: "Development of an integrated production system for the production of elements of reinforcement of modular structures of halls using modern construction materials at Adamietz Ltd. in Strzelce Opolskie” was undertaken. This project was supported under the WO ROP 2014-2020. The production system innovations at Adamietz Ltd. were implemented and the project delivered: modernization, automation of the existing line for the production of modular hall elements and integration of the manufacturing operations of the newly built production line. This work presents the functionality of the new production line and the possibilities of processing modern construction materials to achieve product innovation in the form of expanding the range of geometries of bent sections - elements of reinforcement of modular hall structures. The integration of the production line of bent increased the efficiency of manufacturing, and thus expanded the manufacturing capabilities and the products offered range. This was made possible not only by the process innovation applied to profiling sheet metal production line and manufacturing functional panels for the construction industry, but also by determining the technological ductility of the high-strength sheet metal batches used in studies conducted at the Silesian University of Technology. Determining the range of possibilities for shaping complex bent products, enabled product innovation. Special sections and fasteners were added to the standard range of products and expected product innovation became possible
Forging is currently one of the most economical processes for the manufacture of parts for industry. Product quality and production costs are very significant factors for manufacturers today and determines their competitiveness. The design of preforms is an important aspect for improving the quality of forging parts and reducing the manufacture costs. This paper presents a new opportunity to design preforms for closed-die hot forging using a simple moving average smoothing technique. As examples, the preform design of axisymmetric forgings is performed. Computer simulations of the forging processes in the preform and final forging stages was carried out. The results are compared and analyzed.
Enhancing collision performance and achieving lightweight effects through high-strength vehicle bodies have increasingly spotlighted the development of parts that incorporate hot stamping technology. Specifically, by heating at temperatures above 900 °C and quenching immediately after forming, mechanical strengths of over 1.5 GPa are secured. In the process of developing vehicle body parts that reflect these ultra-high-strength characteristics, computational analysis technology is utilized to predict the part's formation in advance, saving both development time and costs. This pre-analysis then informs the modification of shape and conditions based on the results. To predict the hot stamping formability more accurately, it's paramount to explicitly understand the mechanical properties altered by heating. Especially, the temperature drop phenomenon of the 22MnB5 sheet during the transfer, which occurs just before it contacts the hot stamping die, needs to be identically implemented in the analysis conditions. In this study, to precisely predict the hot stamping formability, the sheet metal forming method (AutoForm Software) was used to simulate temperature changes due to heat transfer. With employing this method, the changes in formability characteristics were aimed to be emulated.
